Özgür Orhangazi is associate professor of economics at Kadir Has University, Istanbul. He received his PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2006 and worked as an assistant professor (2006-2010) and an associate professor (2011) at Roosevelt University in Chicago. In 2009 he was an invited researcher at the Central Bank of Venezuela and in 2017 he was a visiting scholar at the Political Economy Research Institute in Amherst. He also taught classes at Boğaziçi University and City University of New York and served as graduate faculty at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. His recent work focuses on financialization, financial and economic crises, and alternative economic policies.
